Sanguine Threads:
Sanguine Threads started in Los Angeles, CA was created by the fashion designer Robin Walker as a way to label her creations. Robin Walker has always had a love for Japanese Fashion/trends and soon realized that others had similar desires to bring the fashions of Japan to Los Angeles. The only problem with most of the Kimonos and other Japanese outfits was that they tend not to fit many complaining American women that did not have that Japanese female figure. Soon Sanguine Threads was making custom form fitting Japanese outfits for these women at affordable prices in comparison to what was being asked online and other costumers.
Robin Walker also known to attend events like Anime Expo and the San Diego Comic Convention. In no little time, Sanguine Threads was taking orders from people who were in the Cosplay scene.
Robin Walker
I’m just your typical nerd. I play online games, rock D & D with my friends, Work at the Ren Faire, card, dye, spin and knit my own wool, and love learning new yet old ways of making things. While everyone seems to be moving at lightning speed to get into technology I love finding out how they used to do it, old school in a new light. I love the Lolita Gothic movement in Japan, but even before that I was a Gloom Cookie, a Perky Goth, dark clothes, a lunch box, and my classically quirky ever so perky wearing black lipstick smile. I am the ferret in the candy store!. I light up looking through fabric, choosing laces and trim, sketching on anything from notebooks to business cards when an idea hits me….. you can never stop spinning ideas.
I have always had a love for fantacy and magic, whether it was Vitoriana, Renaissance, Anime, and beyond. My endevors began when I was invited to join a group to cosplay as a video game character from Guilty Gear, Testament. My female form was far from this male characters so I had to
redesign and reinvent while still staying true to the original vision. I could have paid an absorbident fee to have someone else make the costume for me but I knew what I wanted, how I wanted it, and for me it mattered most of all that it was made by my own hands so if it succeeded I would learn something, and if it didn’t I would learn even more. I spent weeks drafting, formulating, drawing out designs and thinking for ways to make it work, many years later, and many wonderful creations later I am working in much the same way; striving to provide a superior Creation, your ultimate dream.
