Sorry for those that came to the site and it was such a mess. Hopefully have everything fixed up soon.

Disara in Mass Effect 2 http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/04/03/disara-in-mass-effect-2/ http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/04/03/disara-in-mass-effect-2/#comments Sun, 04 Apr 2010 05:57:50 +0000 Dawn Wolf http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/?p=216 I have a character that I always tend to create in video games or table top RPGs because…well she’s fun to play. Her name is Disara and I created her first in a story of bad Jr. High quality. I felt that her character was weak and choose to use her in RPG games because I thought it might help me in weeding out those flaws. First game I had her in was the MMORPG Everquest 2. I started playing her as a super competent rogue character that hid in the shadows and all the other dull things you see everywhere with RPG characters like that.

My personality is one where I hate to do what everyone else is doing. And everyone was playing the dark, super cool, brooding killer/thief that stands in the many corners of the tavern. I was on an RP server, and knew that I didn’t want Disara to be one of those boring paragraphing emo characters like everyone else. So Disara changed into the loud drunk, gambling, stalker, and a terrible rogue. She also wasn’t a gorgeous goddess of a woman. NO! She’s flat chested, greasy messy hair, smells of alcohol, and has a voice that doesn’t sound sensual or lovely. Disara is also not an orphan!

I had so much fun with this character’s personality that I brought her to World of Warcraft where she caused more havoc. She stalked a Paladin in her guild, sending this holy woman horrible love letters in her mail box, and has a dwarf woman following her about that loves to place explosives in Disara’s closet.

But eventually I started playing Bioware RP games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Disara was dropped into those worlds and I made choices that I felt Disara would. I could say that I’m still developing her character, but really it’s because I love the thought of a drunk champion saving the world. In the first Mass Effect game she just went along in the world, unlike in Dragon Age where she fit in perfectly as an alianage elf.

Then Mass Effect 2 came out and I started Disara on a new adventure. And if any of you have played the game, the comic “Mutant Babies” will make sense because you understand that you can have a relationship with Garrus, though now you’ll understand more of why Disara Shepard would say something like that.

My strange ideas http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/02/18/my-strange-ideas/ http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/02/18/my-strange-ideas/#comments Thu, 18 Feb 2010 08:27:56 +0000 Dawn Wolf http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/?p=206 So I get into video games to the point where I’ll start to dream about the game, or hear a noise and think of the game. Like in my previous comic “Too Much Left 4 Dead“. For this comic, I thought of how many that I know have become addicted with gaining achievements in certain games (Left 4 Dead) and came to think of how it might affect your real life. Ofcourse my first thought is mixing this idea with sex and giggled at the thought of an achievement announcement popping up.

Ya, been playing D&D 4.0 again http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/01/28/ya-been-playing-dd-4-0-again/ http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/2010/01/28/ya-been-playing-dd-4-0-again/#comments Thu, 28 Jan 2010 12:02:23 +0000 Dawn Wolf http://theartofdawn.com/bitsofnothing/?p=201 It’s almost 4AM and I just had to draw this and post it up. I’ve been thinking about it, but never had the time to draw it till now.

About this comic:
I play Dungeons & Dragons with some of my friends. I’ve been DMing for a while, and recently just got back into playing a character.

We’re playing version 4.0 and I was allowed to delve into the Players Handbook 2 when creating my character. So I decided to go Plavalaguna and created a Deva Bard…yup…I went there.

She’s a Cunning Bard and so I went with the “Vicious Mockery” At-Will Power:

“You unleash a string of insults at your foe, weaving them with bardic magic to send the creature into a blind rage.”

This also does damage to your target. So I imagine this can go several ways, either they can be affected by the George Lucas plot (die of a broken heart), or they go emo and start cutting themselves.

But we were joking about some of this on our last game and I wanted to draw a small mini comic for Bits of Nothing

Any of my fellow party members look at this and say “Hey! My character doesn’t look like that!” Well…I don’t have your character sheets and I can only do so much from memory.

And let me know of any typos…it’s 4AM…Spelling and my brain never get along at this hour.
